What is LSZH Cable?

LSZH cable/wire refers to cables where the cable jacketing and insulation is made with materials that produce low/limited smoke and non-toxic halogens when exposed to fire or high temperatures. There is also low smoke cable and zero halogen cable / halogen free cable.

Benefits of LSZH Cable

Low smoke zero halogen cables are used when fire safety is critical, especially in enclosed spaces. A number of fires in transportation facilities and other locations led to the development of LSZH cables. In these emergency fire situations, the low smoke factor helps maintain visibility and can reduce respiratory damage, while zero halogen material cuts the production of toxic, halogenated gases.

 

Construction

 

Conductor : Plain annealed copper solid or stranded (class 1 or 2) conductor complying with BS EN 60228

Insulation : 90°C cross linked XLPE insulation complying with BS7655 Type GP8

Screen : Laminated aluminium tape screen bonded to sheath and in contact with full size tinned annealed copper circuit protective conductor for 2, 3 & 4 core cables

Sheath : Robust thermoplastic LSOH sheath. Colour – White. Other colours are available to special order

 

Standards:

BS 6724, BS EN/IEC 60502-1, BS EN/IEC 60754-1 and 2 BS EN 50267-2-1 and 2, BS EN/IEC 61034-1, BS EN/IEC 60332-1-2, BS EN/IEC 60332-3-24.

PACKING AND SHIPPING

We are capable of meeting the strictest delivery schedules according to per purchase order. Meeting the deadline is always the top priority as any delay in the delivery of cable can contribute to overall project delay and cost overrun.

Cable is supplied in wooden reels, corrugated boxes and coils. Cable ends are sealed with BOPP self-adhesive tape and non-hygroscopic sealing caps to protect the cable ends from moisture. The required marking shall be printed with a weather-proof material on the outsides of drum according to customer's requirement.
